Škoda officially unveils new compact car Rapid

ŠKODA Rapid, Skoda’s new compact saloon is being pushed by the company and they are very excited about the car. This introduction comes within months after the introduction of SKODA Citigo Subcompact. This is a major chunk in the company’s growth strategy for coming days and the car is expected to be in the market by the autumn of 2012.

Spacious, intricate design, great price, efficient engine and standard safety it is easily a model that would set benchmarks in its segment. The ŠKODA Rapid
is a roomy, elegant and at the same time an affordable car for the whole family, impressing with clever solutions, cutting-edge technology and high economy. In short, it is a car permitting mobility in a comfortable, reasonably priced and environmentally friendly package. The right car at the right time,” says ŠKODA CEO Winfried Vahland.

“This is a car that gives out a clear statement at first glance: clear, precise, fresh and emotional,” says Eckhard Scholz, ŠKODA board member for technical development. Company’s new design language will be completely used for the first time in Rapid. Sharp lines with appropriate curves make the car look attractive at all times. Brands new logo stands out at the front while the headlights are in the form of cloverleaf.

Cars’ large taillight is function plus is a part of the overall design. Everything about Rapid is new and elegant. Even though it doesn’t look very big from outside, some clever designing has provided it with a lot of space. Five persons can sit easily with adequate baggage. Options of five petrol powerplants  and two diesel powerplants are available.

Rapid will be seen for the first time publically at the Paris Auto Salon. The target of the company is families that want a spacious car that has the standards of a world class car and price within their reach.
