Goodwood Festival: Nissan Leaf to set Guinness World Reverse Speed Record

Goodwood Festival of Speed is in for some treat as Nissan has some special plans for the festival. Nissan’s Leaf is a really special car, as it is an EV and since it has no gearbox it’s backwards is almost same as it is forwards. But just to set the records straight, Nissan will be organizing a record-breaking run for the Leaf in which it will try to break the record for driving backwards.
Driver will take the Leaf in reverse over the 1.85km hillclimb course as fast as possible, which would
help them to set an official Guinness World Record for the fastest time over a distance of one mile, while driving in reverse.
Told you, the event was good enough to attract a lot of attention to the festival and the car. It might just be that magic that would add that spark in EV’s. Well, this is not the only event, if you have a grudge with Nissan, there is lots of other stuff to do.
